Die Tourismusseelsorge Ostholstein und die Kath Pfarrei St. Vicelin stellen das Projekt Schöpfungskirche Dahme vor: Die St. Stephanus Kirche in Dahme ist heute schon ein lebendiger Ort mit den Schwerpunkten Gemeindekirche, Kulturkirche und Tourismusseelsorge. Aktuell wird diese Kirche – mit Hilfe des Innovationsfonds des Erzbistum Hamburg – zukunftsfähig zur Schöpfungskirche weiterentwickelt. Die Kirche wird zu einem Ort, an dem die Bewahrung der Schöpfung aktiv gelebt und vermittelt wird. Dazu zählen Schöpfungsandachten, ökospirituelle Spaziergänge und Kurparkführungen, Workshops zu Umwelt- und Klimathemen, ein naturnahes Außengelände (z. B. Insektenhotel, Kräuterspirale, Blühflächen) und Kooperationen mit lokalen Umweltinitiativen. Teilprojekt Landmarke 17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele: Der Turm von St. Stephanus soll die Einzelwirkung der benachbarten Erholungsräume Kurpark Dahme, Wander- und Fahrradweg „An der Allee“ und die Schöpfungskirche aufnehmen und mit der Landmarke in Form eines Kunstwerkes für Nachhaltigkeit bündeln. Das Projekt soll zusammen mit bestehenden Kinder- und Jugendgruppen in der Region partizipativ entwickelt werden. Das Projekt verbindet Kultur, Nachhaltigkeit und Tourismus, denn dort findet Kunst, Kulturveranstaltungen und Bildung für alle Generationen statt – klimafreundlich, barrierefrei und nachhaltig. Mit diesem Modellprojekt wird gezeigt, wie ländlich-touristische Regionen Kultur, Natur und Innovation verbinden können. Es ist ein Leuchtturmprojekt, das Strahlkraft weit über Dahme und das Ostseeferienland hinaus entfalten kann.
